Sewer & Drainage FAQs
The most common culprits are tree roots growing into the line, grease buildup, a collapsed or damaged pipe section, and foreign objects that were flushed or washed down a drain. A camera inspection tells us exactly which one it is before we recommend a fix.
Recurring clogs, gurgling drains, multiple slow fixtures at once, or sewer odours in the yard are all signs it's time to look inside the line rather than guess. It's also worth doing before buying an older home with a mature sewer line.
Yes, when it's done right. We always inspect a line by camera first and adjust water pressure to suit the pipe's age and material, so it clears roots, grease and scale thoroughly without putting a fragile older line at risk.
Roughly once a year for most homes is a good rule of thumb, though older clay lines or properties with mature trees near the sewer run may need more frequent attention. Regular cleaning is far cheaper than an emergency backup.
We'd recommend against it for anything beyond a minor sink clog — these products can corrode pipes over time and rarely clear a real blockage further down the line. For a main line issue, professional cleaning (and a camera to confirm it's actually cleared) is the safer, more permanent fix.
